The Shinigami Property Agency project analyzes data on stigmatised properties in Japan. The term “stigmatised properties” derived from the word “stigma”. These properties are often associated with stigma in Japanese society because of their involvement in the topics of death and taboo. However, these properties are extremely common in Japanese society because of social issues like high stress levels and low birth rates. These issues play a part in the increasing numbers of stigmatized properties we see in Japan today. This project seeks to understand the side effects caused by these social issues in stigmatised property data.
